Gear Metrology Calculator Gear Metrology Calculator (GearMetro) © is a 32-bit Windows program for gear geometry and control dimensions for external helical and spur involute gears. GearMetro works in both metric and inch. The main window contains inputs to describe the gear geometry and cutting tool parameters. Control dimensions are calculated for the selected tests. GearMetro calculates chordal dimensions, span measurement, over-pin measurements (1, 2 and 3 Pin) and test radii for composite checks. Alternate pitches are shown conveniently on the side. Angles are displayed in both decimal and degrees, minutes, seconds. Form/undercut and limit diameters are accurately calculated.

Reverse Engineering A Reverse Engineering Dialog provides an easy way to solve for pitch and helix angel data from base circle and base helix angle/lead measurements which can be made on a gear inspection machine. The desired pressure angle can be either normal or transverse and can be entered in decimal degrees or degrees, minutes, and seconds.
